haevan and helle

there is nothing more
that i'd like
than to stay in this
darkness
forever

with my wings of blue
so,
so dark that it's
almost rippling black
and the edges
rimmed with silver

just like sae
and verin
and esera
who's minds are
flooded with the
dark of Helle,
like mine are and every one else's

because the light hurts -
its pure and bright
and it burns your soft flesh
and draws blood from your
eyes
like tears -
the tears that are navy
with bursts of stardust
a night sky
opposite of Haevan
with their golden and pink
cries

i fell from
the Haevan,
my white wings
chopped down to the stubs
blood slinging up against
my neck and
tangling in my
hair
as it whipped blond-turning
black,
staining my toga
as it changed
to Helle
because I was

wronged.

and i learned,
next to the
blue fires of Helle
and the soothing darkness,
that Helle was much better
much softer
much cooler
much more gentle
than Haevan's harshness could

ever

be.

but i may just be biased.
as an angel of Helle,
with the dark wings
and tattoos and
piercings
and hair dye accumulated
over the years from my
Fall,
the Entering into Helle,
and my blood-red chiffon
and black hair
and dark eyes..

yes, i may just be biased.

but then again, i could not be.
